Grindrod draws on art historical and biblical images of The Deluge to explore the threat of climate-induced flooding to all forms of life, using these to consider where our hope might be put in ‘end-times’.

Grindrod’s title also references the frail means of safe passage possible within the chaos and fraughtness of contemporary life and her faith in the importance of dreaming as transport to more expansive, less concrete realms.
